What Work Needs a Dig Permit:
Any proposed ground disturbance on airport property requires a dig permit.
The following are a few examples of ground disturbances requiring prior approval through a Dig Permit:
- Drilling
- Trenching
- Hydro vac
- Excavation
Who Needs to Apply?
- Existing tenants
- Prospective tenants
- Agents of the airport and third-party contractors working on airport lands
- Contractors/outside representatives/contractors acting on behalf of the corporation/tenant
If the applicant is not the owner of the property, the application must provide the name and contact information of the primary lease holder.
How to Submit an Application:
- Complete the Dig Permit Application form online
- Clearly and accurately describe the location and depth of excavation being proposed via site plans and aerial photos
- Provide reference numbers from utility companies in your application form
- Attach all drawings, location maps, and miscellaneous supporting documents
- Submit the application
Expected Outcome:
- The Regina Airport Authority will review and respond with: Approved/Rejected/Conditionally approved/Pending – requiring more information
- Applicants may receive a request for additional information from Regina Airport Authority
- Applicants will receive a response within 7 – 10* business days
- Work may not proceed until the permit is approved
