Regina Airport Authority Completes Construction on New Restaurant and Retail Location at YQR

February 8, 2023

The Regina Airport Authority (RAA) is pleased to announce the completion of phase one of concession improvements on the main floor of the Regina International Airport (YQR).

In 2019 investments were made to improve the food and beverage service available past security to include the full-service Tim Horton’s, Skyway Grill, child’s play area and additional seating. Upon completion of that project, the RAA began work to improve the retail and food & beverage service available prior to security on the main floor. However, plans were put on hold as the community and industry began to grapple with the onset of COVID-19.

Those plans were put back on track in 2022 and last week, a new restaurant and retail location were both opened on the main floor making them available to all travellers, visitors, and employees at YQR. The new restaurant, the Brioche Dorée, was previously located upstairs past security. It has been relocated to the main floor and is now open in the arrivals hall, beginning at 4:30 am every day, and allows passengers, family, and friends the opportunity to enjoy everything from breakfast croissants to soups, sandwiches, flatbreads, cappuccinos, and for breakfast, lunch, and supper.

The locally-focused retail store, Brick + Mortar, is now open from 5am to 9pm every day in their permanent location beside the departure escalators on the main floor. In late 2022, Brick & Mortar had opened at YQR in a temporary location, offering a wide variety of clothing, jewelry, gifts, food, art, and travel items from prominent local brands such as 22Fresh, Hillberg & Berk, The Everyday Kitchen, Queen City Cakes, Wild Prairie Designs, Rebellion Brewing, Chocolate Moose Fudge Factory, and many more.

“We’re really excited about the service and quality of products available now at YQR.” Said Justin Reves, Manager of Customer Experience and Marketing, “We love seeing families having a meal before saying goodbye or travellers finding great local gifts. We’re not done yet, but this a great step forward.”
